VersaWorks Basic Function

Import File

  1. Drag and drop your files into the print queue of your choosing.

NEST

  1. Select all the files you would like to include in one job.
  2. Press the Nest icon to group the selected jobs to form a single (nested) job.
  3. Press the trash icon if you no longer want this job in your print queue.

Settings

  1. To access your job settings window, press the gear icon.

Layout

  1. Select the Layout Tab.
  2. Press “Get Media Width” button to set the media size to the width of the printable area from the printer.
  3. In the Scaling section, adjust size using different scaling methods.
  4. Choose “Center on Media” to move the job to the horizontal center of the media.
  5. Increase and decrease the number of copies using this option.
  6. Increase and decrease the spacing between files using this option.
  7. If this option is selected, a mirrored image will be printed on the media.
  8. Select one of the 4 direction icons to select the orientation in which the job will be printed

Quality

  1. Select the Quality Tab.
  2. Choose the media type from the drop down menu.
  3. Choose a print quality setting. The “Standard” option is most commonly used.

Test Cut

For high-quality cutting, we recommend carrying out a cutting test to check the cutting quality for the media before you perform actual cutting. Adjust the blade force depending on the cutting quality.

  1. Press [FUNCTION].
  2. Press [▼] several times to display the screen shown below.
  3. Press [▶] to display the screen shown below.
  4. Press [ENTER].
    The test pattern is cut.
  5. Press [▼] to display the screen shown below.
  6. Press [▶] to display the screen shown below.
  7. Peel off the cut shapes to verify the cutting quality.
  8. Two shapes are peeled off separately
    You do not need to perform the setting because the blade force is appropriate.
    • Two shapes are peeled off together/backing paper is also cut
    Proceed to the next step to set the blade force.
  9. Press [▲] or [▼] to select a value.
    • Two shapes are peeled off together
    Raise the blade force.
    • Backing paper is also cut
    Reduce the blade force.
  10. Press [ENTER] to confirm your entry.
  11. Re-do TEST CUT process.
  12. Check whether the correction was successful.
    Press [MENU] to finish the test cut.
  13. At the [CUT CONFIG] menu, you can also make settings for other cutting conditions in addition to the blade force.

Cut 

  1. Select the Cutting Control Tab.
  2. If this option is selected, the image will be cut on it’s boundary line.
  3. Change the cutting settings to match the material and blade chosen.

RIP & Print

  1. Processes the selected job by the RIP. The job is not printed.
  2. Prints the selected job. If the target job has not been processed by the RIP, the job is processed by the RIP before being printed.

Print Count

  1. Choose the amount of times you would like this job to be printed.

Sheet Cut / Scissor Cut

  1. Press [FUNCTION].
  2. Press [▼] several times to display the screen shown below.
  3. Press [ENTER].

VersaWorks Advanced Function

TILE

  1. Select the Clip and Tile Tab to configure the settings for tiling and overlaps.
  2. Change the tiling settings here.
  3. Change the overlap settings here.

Clipping

  1. Select the Clip and Tile Tab to configure the settings for tiling and overlaps.
  2. Change the clipping settings here.

Mark

  1. Select the Mark Tab to set the details when marks and job information are added to and printed with the job.
  2. If this option is selected, the job will be printed with crop marks that will help with future alignment.

Head Height

  1. “HIGH” print head height
  2. “MEDIUM” print head height (commonly used)
  3. “LOW” print head height
  • For media that is wrinkled or comes loose from the platen, move the height-adjustment lever to “MEDIUM” or “HIGH.”

General

  1. Select the Printer Control Tab.
  2. Choose from the drop-down menu for different types of settings.
  3. Increase and decrease the dry time with this option.
